Czech Republic

 

As many of you know, Czech Republic is by far the most active futnet country, with hundreds of tournaments of all levels, almost 10 000 registered and many more recreational players. It is no coincidence since it was in this country where futnet originated some 90 years ago and over the years has become an important part of the Czech way of living.

We will do our best to bring you updated information on various interesting futnet events in the Czech Republic, especially those of international importance.

 

October – November

Czech National Championships – single and double

This year the Czech National Championships in single, double and triple are held between 22 October and 5 November and bring a great novelty for all futnet fans –  for the first time in the history of Czech futnet, all three events can be watched live through webstreaming!

 

July

Šacung OMV International Tournament

On 23 July 2011 the oldest international tournament in Czech Republic and probably also the oldest international futnet tournament in the world celebrates its 50th birthday. Šacung OMV started in 1962 and is nowadays open to players from Czech leagues and abroad.

Mighty Sounds

Music festival, held on 15 to 17 July in the town of Tábor (about 100 km south of Prague) that will feature also futnet tournaments in the double and the triple for anyone who will feel like giving it a go.

Valach Open

International outdoor tournament that will take place on 9 July in the town of Vsetín in Moravia (the western part of the Czech Republic). The traditional triples tournament Valach Open will celebrate its 15th year with the presence of top-level futnet teams from at least four European countries.

2nd Czech Footvolley Cup

In July, 2nd Czech Footvolley Cup took place at Michal lake in Sokolov with the participation of 24 teams from the Czech Republic, among them also some famous futnet players. More information about the event is available in Czech.

 

June

Czech Youth Olympics

Great sporting gathering where futnet was also represented. 5th Czech Children and Youth Summer Olympics were held on 21 – 26 June 2011 in the town of Olomouc with the participation of more than 3 500 athletes who represented their regions in 24 sports.

 

February – May

Futnet Czech Open

New indoor futnet competition organised between February and May 2011 under the auspices of European Futnet Association (EFTA) by Czech Futnet Association (ČNS) in cooperation with futnet clubs from Czech Republic and Slovakia.
